Maybe it was last weekend's urban riots, or perhaps it's some innate desire to bond with nature – who really knows?
But the good burghers of Portsmouth and Southampton certainly seem in a hurry to flee their cities and find solace in the rolling green hills north of their metropolitan boltholes.
