Liverpool City Council has awarded £1m to a group of seven credit unions to help local businesses and people struggling with debt.

Liverpool City Council has awarded £1m to a group of seven credit unions in a bid to help local businesses and people struggling with debt.

The council estimates the money will help support more than 23,000 residents and 620 local firms, as well as safeguard 140 jobs.
