Liverpool City Council welcomes involvement of district auditor to investigate claims schools contractors were not held to account.

Liverpool City Council has welcomed the involvement of the district auditor to investigate claims its officers failed to hold schools contractors working under the private-finance initiative (PFI) to account.

A report produced by the Liverpool Schools Forum complained of poor maintenance and health and safety checks by service providers, and the ‘failure to properly manage and monitor the PFI contract'.
