The deputy leader of Nottingham City Council has criticised the Government's decision to cut the rebate given to councils to cover student exemptions from council tax, labelling it a ‘stealth cut'.
The 27% reduction in compensation for student council tax loss is set to cost Nottingham Council around £3.5m a year.
