Metropolitan Police investigation has found no evidence of electoral fraud in Tower Hamlet's the Electoral Commission has reported.

Metropolitan Police investigation has uncovered no evidence of widespread electoral fraud in Tower Hamlet's before last May's elections, the Electoral Commission has reported.

But the independent elections watchdog heard evidence of a breakdown of trust between elected representatives, the electoral registration officer and returning officer for Tower Hamlets LBC. Chair of the Commission, Jenny Watson said: 'Steps must now be taken to being rebuilding trust to avoid future elections being damaged by allegations of electoral fraud.
