Former foreign and home secretary Sir James Cleverly is expected to return to the Conservative front bench as shadow local government secretary.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, who is shaking up her top team, is understood to have asked him to cover the housing, communities and local government brief, shadowing Angela Rayner.
