Cindy Butts and Stephen Hay have been appointed as non-executive members of the Board of Communities and Local Government. An independent member of the Metropolitan Police Authority since 2000, Ms Butts is also chair of the race and faith inquiry work of the Metropolitan Police. Mr Hay is chief operating officer of Monitor, the independent regulator of NHS Foundation Trust Hospitals. He formerly worked for KPMG.
