A senior CLG civil servant is set to become the chief executive of the independent body set up to advise the Government on housing supply and affordability. Neil McDonald, a director within the housing unit at the CLG, will join the National Housing and Planning Advice Unit on 3 March. Mr McDonald will replace Kevin Williamson, who has left to become interim chief executive of the Infrastructure Planning Commission. Mr Williamson said Mr McDonald's role at the NHPAU would be to ‘drive forward and deepen the unit's relationship with the regions and make a real difference in achieving better long-term housing affordability'.
