Leeds City Council has formally objected to neighbouring Bradford City Council's plans to approve almost 1,000 new homes for the Menston area of the city – close to the boundary with Leeds.

Leeds responded to Bradford's official consultation on the development by revealing it was concerned about the impact on the green belt and possible traffic congestion.
