The Centre for Public Scrutiny (CfPS) has become a registered charity. The Charity Commission confirmed the application acknowledging the work the centre does to support and promote the value of scrutiny and accountability. The CfPS has appointed Deborah Collins, monitoring officer at Southwark LBC, as a new trustee. Andrew Bacon, Jim Clifford and Vicki Lawson-Brown join Ms Collins as new faces on the centre's board. Jessica Crowe, executive director of CfPS, said: ‘Becoming a charity sends a strong signal about the centre's independence, and its mission to promote better scrutiny for better government, which we firmly believe are to the benefit of the general public and their communities.'
