You know you've made it when someone names a room after you, but not everyone was amused when the leader of Cheshire East Council announced he was renaming the cabinet room after former chief executive, Kim Ryley.

‘The move was in ‘recognition of the great impact that Kim made to our organisation', according to the council, but UKIP Cllr Brian Silvester was less than impressed, branding it as ‘ridiculous'. ‘People have been contacting me to ask if it is a wind-up, or an early April Fools' joke, but sadly it is correct,' said Cllr Silvester.
