A new consultation on concessionary fares has been hailed as ‘good news' for councils by the Local Government Association. The Department for Transport (DfT) launched the consultation last week, which will run until 23 November. LGA senior policy consultant, Caroline Green, said the consultation was good news because the DfT had announced that funding through the scheme would be carried out through special grants.
