The independent Boundary Committee for England has opened a further consultation period for Cornwall Council's electoral arrangements. The consultation, which will end on 18 September 2009, will gather evidence to four local areas to make people aware of its draft recommendations in a bid to avoid further legal wrangling. Archie Gall, director of the Boundary Committee, said: ‘We're very pleased with the response we've had to our draft recommendations for Cornwall. ‘It's given us lots to think about. We're looking for more information and views on these specific areas so that our final recommendations strike the right balance between community identities and equality of representation for residents.'
