Housing minister Grant Shapps has admitted that soaring mobile internet use could soon end the requirement for councils to print statutory notices.

Fielding questions from Hackney LBC's mayor, Jules Pipe, at the LGA's executive meeting on 12 July, Mr Shapps said the shift to digital meant it was ‘inevitable' that authorities would soon have to place all such notices online.
