Local authority pension funds have taken their battle for governance changes at controversy-dogged News Corp across ‘The Pond', after linking up with US investors to demand that Rupert Murdoch stands aside as chairman.
The UK's Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF), which represents 55 council funds managing assets of £110bn, has joined forces with Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS), a religious organisation supporting socially-responsible investment, to call for Mr Murdoch to give way to an independent News Corp chair.
