Councils bite back at food waste recycling rollout plan

Councils will not be told how much money they will receive to roll out food waste recycling until months before the implementation date, the Government has admitted.

Councils will not be told how much money they will receive to roll out food waste recycling until months before the implementation date, the Government has admitted.

Under the Government's Simpler Recycling policy, local authorities must begin offering weekly food waste collections by the end of March. Around half of local authorities currently have no food collection service at all.
