Councils could take a proactive approach to improving residents' wellbeing, according to Local Government Improvement and Development (LGID).
A week after prime minister David Cameron indicated the Office for National Statistics could be asked to assess citizens' happiness as part of the future policy-making process, LGID argued a focus on wellbeing would help councils respond to financial challenges.
