Council chiefs have backed calls for a constitutional convention involving all nations of the UK.

Council chiefs have backed calls for a constitutional convention involving all nations of the UK to consider what a settlement may look like in the next 10 or 20 years.

This follows publication on 28 March of a report by the Political and Constitutional Reform Select Committee, which argues 'failure to answer the English question, and the reality that the largest nation in the Union is still micro-managed from Whitehall, has and will continue to cause tension with the rest of the union'.
