Councils share £46m to power energy savings

Scores of local authority and third sector energy schemes were this week awarded a share of £46m of government cash.

Scores of local authority and third sector energy schemes were this week awarded a share of £46m of government cash, including £5m for the energy-switching projects championed by The MJ.

The cash pot from the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) will be shared across 132 projects, with £31m going to local anti-fuel poverty schemes and £10m for household energy efficiency investments through the Green Deal.
