A major PFI scheme covering waste disposal services across Cheshire appears to have finally collapsed, following a protracted procurement process and legal wrangling with the Government.
Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire East Council, may be forced to write off around £4m of joint expenditure as a result, arising mainly from procurement processes involved in the deal.
