Essex CC is set to join the growing band of councils offering complete disclosure of all spending.
The decision comes ahead of government guidance requesting that all authorities halve the existing £500 threshold and publish all items of expenditure above £250. Essex CC's leader, Cllr Peter Martin, will tell a cabinet meeting on 12 September that the move would make the council one of the most transparent authorities in the country.
