Gloucestershire CC's leader has accused the prime minister of snubbing local councils on a visit to the county. Gordon Brown was in Cheltenham last Friday to launch the Cheltenham Literary Festival, but said there was ‘no time in the schedule' to meet leaders of Gloucestershire CC and the city council to discuss the crisis. County council leader, Cllr Barry Dare, said: ‘As a county, we have more than £30m of our reserves tied up in this situation and we needed to know that the Government was on our side.'
