Surrey CC reports its partnership with May Gurney has helped to save £7.3m, and achieve all financial targets.

Surrey CC's highways partnership with engineering firm, May Gurney, has saved the local authority £7.3m in its first year and achieved all of its financial targets, the council has reported.

In the first year, the contractor responded to 4,237 emergency call-outs and helped prepare the county's roads for the 2012 Olympic Games' cycling events.
