Suffolk CC's portfolio holder for roads, transport and planning has questioned National Grid's need to build 90 masts across the county.
Dismissing the route chosen for the 150ft-high voltage masts between Bramford and Twinstead and across the Stour Valley and Dedham Vale as ‘the lesser of four evils', Cllr Guy McGregor said the debate should be about whether pylons were necessary in the first place.
