Somerset CC's recent legal battle over the future of its library service cost the authority almost £70,000, it has been revealed.

The High Court ruled in November that the county council's decision to cut the libraries budget by £1.35m was unlawful, and ordered the local authority to reinstate any services it had reduced or dropped.
