The Audit Commission has released its first quarterly update on comprehensive performance assessments (CPA) for 2006, revealing nothing has changed. The first tranche looked at single-tier and county councils, and took into account the results of corporate assessments since the CPAs were published last December. All 150 single-tier and county councils will have a new corporate assessment between 2005 and 2008, as well as joint area reviews of children's and young people's services. Subsequent quarterly updates are expected at the end of June and September.
