The ~Campaign to Protect Rural England~ (CPRE) has submitted its recommendations to the Lyons inquiry into the future of local government. In its submission, the CPRE called for councils to be given a new legal duty of care to protect and enhance the historic environment, and for sustainability to be at the forefront of local government's strategic role.
