A Buckinghamshire business forum has initiated a crowd-funding scheme to cover the £25,000 costs of an independent review into whether the county should seek unitary status.

In an email newsletter soliciting funds for the unitary probe, BBF managing director Philippa Batting said: ‘It is generally understood that in Buckinghamshire our ability to fund local public services is becoming very difficult and that a change to local government is needed, but the question is what change.'
