Let's face it, illegal parking is the bane of most local authorities.
Yellow lines or red lines, high kerbs or bollards, fines and towing, you all know it – whatever you do, those pesky drivers will always find a space to park up their big, brutish vehicles. Well, maybe we should start looking abroad for answers. Specifically to the mayor of Vilnius, Arturas Zuokas, whose ‘tactics' for dealing with parking were somewhat more extreme than painting lines.
