Bedfordshire CC's cultural services are ‘fair', but with ‘uncertain prospects for improvement', according to the Audit Commission. Awarding a one-star rating, the commission said it was unclear what the authority wanted to deliver from the £7.6m-a-year it spent on cultural services. It added that while it provided some good initiatives for young people, Bedfordshire did not provide consistently good access to cultural services for all sections of the community.
