Eden DC in Cumbria has appointed a new chief executive, despite the impending threat of local government reorganisation. Kevin Douglas, who is currently executive director of Harrogate BC's department of corporate policy and improvement, has been appointed at the new chief executive. Mr Douglas will take up his new job later this summer and succeeds Ian Bruce, who retired last month after 29 years of service. Councillors decided in February to look for a new chief executive, despite Cumbria CC's unitary bid.
