Cumbria CC's leader has said he is hopeful of wrapping up a devolution deal by the end of next week.
Speaking after a ‘reasonably positive' meeting between Cumbrian officials and Whitehall mandarins in Manchester yesterday, Stewart Young said he had received assurances that national politicians were still keen on a deal.
