A man has been charged after an alleged attempt to blow up a council building. The 42-year-old man was remanded in custody after an explosive device was left outside one of Doncaster MBC's buildings. The council ordered a series of checks at all council buildings after the package was found in the early hours of 21 April. The building was empty at the time and an army bomb-disposal team was called in to make the device safe. Paul Hart, Doncaster MBC's managing director, said: ‘We take the safety of our staff seriously and have arranged for all teams who work in the buildings close to the incident to work from other areas. ‘Our other buildings are being checked and managers have been issued with advice on what to do if they become aware of anything suspicious.'
