‘Cyber cynicism' is hindering local government business, the Chartered Management Institute has claimed. CMI research shows 86% of local government employers monitor staff access to the Internet, while 35% retain tight control over access by ‘imposing curfews on usage'. Yet the institute claims this means many ‘employers fail to capitalise on the business benefits which can be offered by technology'.
