Dame Denise Platt, the chair of CSCI, has been named public servant of the year in the 2008 Dods and Scottish Widows women in public life awards.
The award is made to the most effective woman in the public sector at either at a national, regional or local level who has demonstrated real achievement in their field of work in the last year.
‘It is a privilege to be chair of the Commission for Social Care Inspection and to have had the opportunity to ensure that the voices and concerns of the people that rely on social care services are amplified and heard,' she said.
