Glasgow City Council has given a developer two more years to finish a 218-home development. Rather than see the project collapse under the credit crunch, the council's executive voted to give Mansell Partnership Homes until 2012 to get the buildings finished. The homes, all of which were intended for private sale, may be rented or sold under shared-equity ownership to help those affected by the downturn. Executive member for development and regeneration services, Cllr George Ryan, said: ‘We are taking pragmatic steps.'
