Welfare ministers wrote to councils this week to set out the role they see local government playing to help deliver the Government's Universal Credit (UC) programme.

A letter from Lord Freud welcomed the sector's response to the local support services framework and stated examples of inclusive and innovative partnerships would be published in a revised document due to be published in October.
