Northern Ireland's second city is to remain as Londonderry, despite a bid by the council to change the name to Derry. Derry City Council had sought a judicial review into the name of the city after the local authority changed its name to Derry in 1984. High Court judge Mr Justice Weatherup ruled that only legislation or Royal Perogative could change the city's name.
