No taxing on the fringe

It is a little known fact that some members of The MJ news team are of Scottish descent, and have been known to get misty-eyed at the mention of Robbie Burns, Oor Wullie and Irn Bru – especially after what is colloquially known as a wee dram. So, imagine our horror when we heard that Edinburgh councillors were discussing the idea of a tax on tickets for the world-famous Festival Fringe, which lights up the city every summer.
