The Coalition Government is looking at how they best pay for the back office services for Academies & have decided to 'top slice' schools funding from local education authorities. There is not much argument about the need to make provision for such things as finance, IT, etc. The question is more about the level of top slice, particularly in areas where there are few Academies - in central Bedfordshire we expect to have quite a few, so its less of an issue for us.It seems that the the Liberal & Labour Group's at the LGA are dead set on seeking Judicial Review of the process - other than making a political point there will only be 2 winners - the lawyers & the Government.I am not supportive of going down a JR process & neither is my Authority.
