A one-stop online website for all public services is getting a £1.8m relaunch this week. The http://www.direct.gov.uk website offers links to all services offered by central and local government, including council tax, recycling and consumer rights. direct.gov can also be used to find local councils, schools and register to vote. It was first launched in April 2004, and will eventually replace some of the Government's 1,200 other websites. The relaunch will include advertisements on buses and on national radio.
