Director of Children's and Adults' Services - Bedford Borough Council

Director of Children’s and Adults' Services - Bedford Borough Council

Salary: c.£130k

Closing Date: 12 November 2013.

This role offers a compelling professional challenge – shaping a holistic strategy for our Children's and Adults' Services.

Your work will touch the lives of all in our borough and we are committed to delivering the highest quality services that can make all the difference.

Bedford presents a truly diverse and complex setting in a borough where urban and rural, deprived and affluent sit closely together. It's a place that's changing, with significant regeneration projects creating new economic opportunities and improving quality of life in the borough.

We're making significant investment into these key services to increase the resources at our disposal to deliver sustainable improvement.

It's vital that you can bring a well-informed understanding of the full spectrum of services that pertain to this role, but a track record of leading improvement in Children's Services will be of particular importance and we'll look to you for practical ideas on enhancing our performance in key areas.

You'll offer sound experience of managing substantial budgets in a resource-hungry service and a thorough understanding of the commissioning agenda.

A visible and compelling leader, you'll be able to quickly establish your credibility within and beyond our organisation.
