Director of Community Health & Social Care - Shetland Isles Council

Director of Community Health & Social Care - Shetland Isles Council

Community spirit is alive and well on the Shetland Islands and in such a small community we all have a contribution to make to the cultural, economic and social fabric of life on the islands.

It's this sense of shared responsibility and ownership that has helped us progress our integration agenda. You'll take it to the next level.

Working as a Director across both the Council and NHS Shetland this role will lead a diverse remit of community health & care services that are fundamental to life on the islands. We can boast a really high standard of current delivery and an integration agenda that's well advanced.

But this continues to be a demanding role, with the ongoing challenge of budget pressures and the political and public scrutiny that it attracts.

To make this the next step in your career you will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the current community health & care agenda and present a track record in delivering through partnership.

It will be important that you can bring the stamina, resilience and diplomacy to effect change in a high profile role.

And you'll need to show a good appreciation of the Shetland Islands' unique setting and how this impacts upon our community and their needs.
