Director - Place, Environment and Economy - Southampton City Council

At Southampton City Council we expect the ambitions of our directors to mirror the ambitions of our city.

Southampton is, without a doubt, the city to watch. With £1 billion of development in the pipeline and an investment target of £3 billion by 2025, we are a council that knows where it is going and has foundations in place for building success.

Like Southampton, are you the one to watch?

Are you an inspirational, dynamic and passionate individual with ambitions to make it to the top? Can you evidence success working with others to implement comprehensive transformation through innovative and strategic leadership? If so, then the role of Director, Place (Environment and Economy) is for you. Like Southampton, you must be visionary and entrepreneurial.

You will join a management team led by a new Chief Executive with drive and spirit and a desire to create a sustainable Southampton, economically, socially and environmentally.

You will play an integral part in realising this vision.

Central to this will be a proven ability to succeed while tackling the financial challenge. You will also be an excellent and tenacious communicator able to build on the positive relationships which have been forged locally, regionally and nationally. You will have a wide remit but focus will be given to delivery of our master plan, the waste transformation programme and our estates regeneration ambitions.

The closing date for applications is 3rd September 2013.
