Director of Procurement for STaR

Stockport, Trafford and Rochdale Councils are currently creating a ground-breaking strategic procurement service, with the aim of delivering greater savings through procurement and increasing capacity across all three Authorities.

Leading a team of 24 and reporting to a Management

Board, the Director will need to influence and shape local

supplier markets, engage and work collaboratively with the

commissioners from each Authority, and help establish a

customer focused and commercial approach across the

new organisation.

Candidates will need to have exceptional tenacity and

drive, as well as senior procurement and transformation

experience gained in the public or private sectors. Over the

medium and long term, the Director will also need to lead

the growth of the organisation – potentially serving other

bodies from across the public sector.

This is a superb opportunity to help shape a truly ‘leading

edge’ strategic procurement service. If you have the vision,

energy and passion to lead a dynamic new organisation

we want to hear from you! For more information please see

advising consultants James Mann (0113 205 6083) or
