Bromsgrove DC and Redditch BC have become the latest councils to agree to share a chief executive. Both councils met on Monday and to discuss a feasibility study on a joint top officer and decided Bromsgrove DC's chief executive, Kevin Dicks, will head up both authorities for an initial 12-month pilot. The two councils are following the lead of Adur DC and Worthing BC, which are sharing chief executive, Ian Lowrie. ‘This is an exciting time for Bromsgrove and Redditch and will mean both authorities making significant savings which will be ploughed back into services for our residents,' said Bromsgrove DC leader, Roger Hollingworth. ‘Bromsgrove DC has come a long way on its journey of improvement in the last few years, and this is the next step in that journey.' Redditch BC leader, Carole Gandy, said: ‘The feasibility study did not provide any good reasons why we shouldn't appoint a joint chief executive, but it did provide lots of good reasons why we should.'
