A new senior management team has been appointed at North East Derbyshire DC to strengthen its focus on sustainable communities and customer service. Several new posts have been created, while some existing staff have been appointed to new jobs. Mike Goodwin, the former director of corporate services is now deputy chief executive; Paul Crowson, former head of strategic support, has become assistant chief executive; Hilary Jones, former head of customer services is now director of customers and communities; and Bryan Mason, former head of finance is now director of finance and assets. Philip Spurr joins the council next month in the newly-created role of director of sustainable development. His role will be to take forward economic development in the borough, with a focus on environmental sustainability. Mr Spurr was previously a project director for Renaissance South Yorkshire. In a joint appointment with Derbyshire PCT, Steve Pintus has joined the local authority as associate director of public health. Prior to his appointment, Mr Pintus worked for Sheffield PCT as a senior public health manager.
