District councils have been hit hard by the grant settlement. The average two-year reduction for districts is at least 25%, with many of us, like my own council, facing almost 27%.
This has come as a body blow, since many of us have been completely focused on running tight ships and being effective in taking out cost for many years. High performing and low cost is the mantra districts share and prize.
