Rochdale MBC, traditionally regarded as the historic home of the Co-operative movement, has been officially recognised as the ‘World Capital of Co-Operatives' at a global meeting of international cities.
A gathering of the 2,000-strong International Co-operative Alliance in Mexico last week declared the Lancashire town as its global figurehead.
