The chairman of the influential Commons local government select committee has told The MJ ‘the jury is out' on whether community budget initiatives have coaxed government departments ‘out of their silos'.

Clive Betts MP was speaking after the release on Monday of his select committee's interim report, which outlines the parameters of a ‘full inquiry' into community budgets prior to a major report next year.
